Happy Valentines Day from Maxienne

I have a massive distaste for equating intellectualism with hopelessness and cynicism. Its very easy to fall into the “Well, actually…“ oneupmanship when you immerse yourself in the over-educated social debate club of living in a major city. And I think that’s the lazy way out.

Its the intelligent thing to do to gravitate towards affection, giving and receiving, in all its form. I do so without shame. You are not a fool to fall in love. You are not naive to believe in it. Passion is what makes life worth living and I’m willing to fight for it. I even dedicated my left shoulder to it.

All we have is how we experience ourselves and others. And I will always choose love, love for others, love for myself, love of love. If choosing to romanticize my life and celebrating human connection makes me dumb, than I am an absolute drooling bimbo. And I wouldn’t have it any other way.
