When a last minute trip turns into a photo shoot...

New Photo Gallery and website update!

I like to do my photo shoots quarterly. No one wants to look at photos of me in a parka in June.

I already had vague plans to do a new one in January but when I got an invite for a last minute extended lunch date in Brooklyn, the wheels in my head started turning. Fortunately, I am always armed with a Pinterest board full of visual inspiration and links to new lingerie to blow a load of cash on. I already knew exactly what I wanted. A photographer in the city and I had started a loose chat a few weeks back, so I crossed my fingers and asked if we could bump up our meet up to that very weekend. I was expecting a no, (which would have been totally and completely reasonable!) but sometimes the stars align and you capture something magical.

This was one of those times.

This is also the first photo shoot I’ve done with my hair curly and I don’t ever want to straighten it ever again! Maintaining curls is a heavy responsibility you don’t get to opt in or out of. Its a lifelong experiment of trial and error, but I think I finally mastered it after all these years. Curly hair has a mind of its own. Regular blows outs are easy because I know exactly how straight hair is going to respond to any condition, but it causes so much damage. Now that my hair is happy and healthy and my curls are bouncing, I just want to grow it out like Rapunzel!
