There are so many words I think of when it comes to Simone, I really had to narrow it down. She is such a vivid dream girl who lives passion and poetry.
The first time we met, we spent the day sifting through antiques and oddities in Chicago. I admire a girl who can find the beauty in novelty taxidermy and the charm of vintage bottles of embalming fluid. She is just as much of a collector of experiences as she is of trinkets.
She knows herself and what she wants out of life and love. She speaks the language fluidly and is a helpful instructor to her suitors. Below, she illustrates the way to her heart with the help of one of her favorite members of the animal kingdown.
My favorite bird by far was the bowerbird.
Bowerbirds are a family of birds that specifically build structures to attract a mate. They take painstaking time to craft something intricate and worthy of attention. They work tirelessly, with fervor.
One particular bird in the documentary had spent seven years building a bower for his future wife, and still had not found her. His neighbor would occasionally even come to sabotage him, stealing sticks and setting back his progress. Yet, he never gave up.
Simone normally calls San Francisco home, but will be based in Atlanta for the first 3 weeks of May and will be available for easy FMTYs nearby (4 hour minimum for flights 2.5 hours or shorter)
And don’t forget to wish her a Happy Birthday this month.
We only get to see each other a couple of times of year as we are based on opposite coasts. Every time she runs off again, I have to force myself to not recreate one of the greatest scenes in movie history. Hate to see her leave, but love to watch her walk away. (For obvious reasons ♥️)
