Being a Board Game Groupie, Custom Charcuterie, & Keeping your Secrets
Here’s what I’m loving this month:
♥️ The questions and comments I’ve been getting on Tellonym. I have this set up to take questions for the monthly AskMax feature (submit your question for a future issue!), but people have been also using it to send me sweet secret messages. They have been very cute and making me smile.
♥️ Finally learning to play Catan. Its been a running joke amongst my friends for years that I am a “Board Game Groupie”. I never got into D&D or Magick*, but for some reason, I always end up dating or hanging out with people who are committed table top enthusiasts. I figured maybe it was time to see what all the fuss is about and have been joining in on some board game nights recently. I’m seeing the light!
♥️ Notion. I have never found an app or system that kept my life and work organized in the way that made sense to my brain, so apparently I just had to build my own! I had heard of Notion for years, but it didn’t resonate until I got my hands dirty and started building databases and automations. Now, I’m obsessed and my workflow is unparalleled!
♥️ Lardon in Chicago. Its a cute little resto in Logan Square where you get to customize your own charcuterie board. My date and I each got a peach salad and shared 3 meats and 3 cheeses and were completely stuffed. The staff is relaxed and knowledgeable, they are happy to help with pairings. This was weeks ago and I’m still dreaming of the Truffled Lardo spreadable salumi. Putting together our own board was fun, but next time I really want to try the prix fixe dinner they serve on the weekends.
♥️ The reaction to the last LoveNote’s (limited time only) OF game. If you missed it, I sent out personal voice messages to each person who dm’ed me The Password.
It may have taken me the entire weekend to get to everyone, but I took the time to record notes for each person, not some mass message blasted out to everyone. I think getting to hear someone’s voice makes it so much more human and real. The messages I left have sparked up some really good (and dirty…) conversations. I’m really enjoying getting to each of you in a new way!
