I'll be home (and away) for Christmas

I tell people I’m from DC in the way people from Naperville say they’re from Chicago. The truth is I come from the suburbs of Maryland, the land of Old Bay and the Blair Witch. Its just easier that way; no one in the Midwest has heard of the third largest city in the ninth smallest state.

That being said, I’m used to my holidays pine-scented and sprinkled with snow. My family made the big retirement pilgrimage to Florida last year so going forward, I’ll have to get used to palm trees covered in string lights when I visit.

Its hard to not get nostalgic and cozy this time of year. I still crave the traditional fireplace and hot cocoa cuddles I associate with Christmas. Florida can’t give me that, but Chicago always will. I’m going to be around for most of December. Help me live out my chilly yuletide fantasy before I head south the big day. 🎄

Its photo shoot season! I’m currently plotting my next big editorial. I’m commonly told that my visual style and art direction are what catches the eye and heart. I truly love designing so I’m glad my enthusiasm comes through in the images!

I’m a big “maker“. I like to design my own clothes, upcycle furniture, paint my own wall decor, etc (More on all of this in 2022!) The best part of December in Chicago is all of the handmade fairs! My favorite being the annual Underground Art Market where we can stroll hand-in-hand sipping organic cider while we peep 70+ local vendors and their unique crafts. 🎨

I love finding hidden gems with someone special while supporting small businesses. Lets make it a date!
