Hello, LoveNote lovers! Yesterday I teased a fun guest post that has been in the works for weeks.
Well, today my big boy Bowser decided to sneak into one of the forbidden rooms of the house and rub his face in some lilies which lead to several hours in the emergency room today.
Things are looking good for him. I caught him in the act immediately, I checked the petals for bite marks, (there were none!), I immediately gave him a (very violent) bath to get any potential pollen off his fur before he could lick it up, and then got him to the vet all in under an hour.
All of his tests came back great and the vet told me it was a low exposure case and we would benefit from being able to act fast, but we still need to keep an eye on him over the next couple of days. This might be absolutely nothing, but I couldn’t live with myself if I didn’t make good time and find out for sure.
I will update you on my next Chicago visit. I hate to cut it short, but I have never experienced a health scare like this and am acting accordingly.
Enjoy the cat pics and let this also serve as a PSA: If your favorite provider has pets, please make sure any bouquet you send her does not contain lilies.
Lilies are extremely poisonous to pets, especially cats. Even the tiniest exposure can kill them in as little as three days. I thought I’d be safe keeping them in a room that’s sealed off from my babies, but cats will always find a way...
Don’t make my mistake!
I hope the lilies smelled amazing, Bowser, you little shit…
Until next time, Chicago 😢
